Regular physical activity is essential for physical and mental health at different stages of life, including among hospitalized patients. This research aims to characterize and describe the frequency of physical activity among informal caregivers in a public hospital in the State of Rio de Janeiro. It is a case study involving 25 caregivers of patients admitted to medical, surgical, and pediatric clinics. Data were collected through biopsychosocial profiles, weight and height measurements for BMI calculation, Ipaq questionnaires, and the Zarit Scale. The majority of participants (80%) were sedentary or irregularly active and early half of the sample (48%) had an overweight BMI. The Zarit index indicated mild or moderate burden. Health promotion programs that include physical activity and psychological support are necessary. Further research with larger samples and longitudinal designs is urgently needed.
